Dosbarth Oren

Croeso i Dosbarth Oren,

The teachers in our class are Miss Evans and Mrs Cole.

Our classroom is an exciting and engaging environment where we have fun and learn together. We are always working hard in both focus and directed activities, where we always remember to try our best. We are developing our skills to work independently and build our resilience, as we know that these qualities make us better learners, ready to take on challenges. Activities are planned where we have opportunities to work independently, with our friends and with our teachers. Each week we have new OWL activities that are planned with our interests at heart. All our work is displayed in the classroom to celebrate our achievements and that the environment is purposeful to us.

We are excited about our Autumn term in Reception, where we can have fun, learn and grow together as a class.

Apps we use in Dosbarth Oren:

  • We use SeeSaw daily in class to share children’s work.  SeeSaw is also used to communicate the children’s reading progress weekly and parents are able to ask any questions they may have through the messenger aspect of SeeSaw.
  • Schoop is currently our whole school messaging service. The app can be downloaded to Android and Apple, allowing you to subscribe to our school channel (11150). Schoop is used to share our weekly newsletters and any important class notices or events.

Our PE day is every other Monday afternoon.   Children need to come to school in suitable clothing for their PE session.  The first PE session of the Autumn term is Monday 18th September.

Our Forest School day is every other Tuesday afternoon.   Children will need a coat and wellies for the session.  The first session of the Autumn is Tuesday 12th September.

Things to Note:

  • Book bags along with your child’s books and word lists are to be brought in on your child’s Reading Day.
  • Reading updates are sent weekly via Seesaw. Reading books are changed weekly; therefore, it is important that your child brings their books and word lists on their reading day.
  • It is very important that all items of clothing children come to school with are clearly labelled with the child’s name.
  • Children require a labelled water bottle each day and a healthy snack for breaktime in a labelled pot.  We are a healthy school, please only send healthy snacks and plain water.
  • If you know your child has difficulty going to the toilet or getting to the toilet on time, please ensure that a bag with a clean change of clothes is provided each day.

Our Summer Term Topic will be ‘Round and Round the Garden!’.
